Two rising stars alongside seasoned stars

Young Courtney Stapleton will play Belle. Barely 27 years old, her CV is completely insane: Six, Dear Evan Hansen, Les Misérables. To give him the answer, we will count on Emmanuel Kojo (Oklahoma!, Girl from the North Country).

Most importantly, they are joined by Broadway megastar Gavin Lee as Lumière! His tap-dancing solos in Spongebob et Mary Poppins have become so cult that the production will create a new tap solo for him in the song "Be Our Guest"!
Another megastar joins the cast: Angela Lansbury, who created the role of Mrs. Potts. She will not be on stage but a pre-recorded message will be played at the start of the show.

We will also find Tom Senior (Gaston), Sam Bailey (Mrs. Potts), Nigel Richards (Cogsworth), Martin Ball (Maurice), Samantha Bingley (the Wardrobe), Emma Caffrey (Babette), and Louis Stockil (Le Fou). In the ensemble roles, we will find Jake Bishop, Pamela Blair, Liam Buckland, Jasmine Davis, Autumn Draper, Daisy Edwards, Alyn Hawke, George Hinson, Jennifer Louise Jones, Brontë Lavine, Thomas-Lee Kidd, David McIntosh, Aimee Moore , Sam Murphy, Ashley-Jordon Packer, Emily Squibb, Grace Swaby, India Thornton, and Rhys West.

A new show to add to our “must watch” list!

A production at the heart of a scandal

You might not know it but there has been a stir on Broadway recently because of producer Scott Rudin. Renowned for his impulsive temper, he was accused by many employees in April 2021 of abusive behavior and physical violence. He also had employees sign non-denigration clauses by threatening to remove their names from the credits of films and theatrical brochures.
Following this story, actress Karen Olivo resigned from Moulin Rouge! on Broadway, produced by Scott Rudin. On Instagram, she spoke: "I want a theater industry that equals my integrity."

Rob Roth, who directed the original Broadway version was supposed to resume his work for the English version. Following the actress's resignation, he congratulated the producer by email. Unfortunately for him, he wrote this email on a plane and the person sitting next to him shared the email with the media. In this letter he wrote that Scott Rudin should receive "an honorary Tony for leading this horrible actress to stop acting." God bless you Scott for your service in the American theater. "

You will understand, these two odious characters withdrew from the American theater.

All the same, an insane creative team

It didn't take long for the Disney team to replace Rob Roth with Matt West. The choreographer of the original version will also sign the staging of the show. The creative team also includes Stan Meye (sets), Ann Hould-Ward (costumes), Natasha Katz (lights) and John Shivers (sounds). Michael Kosarin and Danny Troob are the musical supervisors and orchestrators. There will also be illusions from Jim Steinmeyer, who previously worked on Mary Poppins, Aladdin et Into the Woods.

The show still includes the legendary music and lyrics of Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice.
