Les Misérables

Summary of the musical Les Misérables :

Les Misérables tells the story of Jean Valjean, a former convict who spends his life seeking redemption, tracked down by Inspector Javert.
Unable to find work due to his ex-convict status, he ends up stealing silverware from a local church. But when the police intervene, the priest claims to have given his objects to Valjean. This gesture causes a change in Valjean. He built a new identity for himself and became a wealthy factory owner and mayor.
Fantine, one of the former employees, became a prostitute and died in misery after her dismissal. Jean Valjean adopts his young daughter Cosette, until then placed with the Thénardiers.
The years pass and the Commune festers in the streets of Paris. Cosette, now an adult, falls in love with Marius, a passionate revolutionary. In the middle of the barricades, Inspector Javert, who is following Jean Valjean, begins to get closer to the secret past of the former prisoner.
