The story follows the journey of two drag queens, Tick and Adam. They are accompanied by a transgender, Bernadette, and together they cross Australia by bus, (named Priscilla). Tick's ex-wife asked him to perform at an Alice Springs hotel. He takes Adam and Bernadette and the trio drive from Sydney to the secluded resort town in the middle of the desert.
Tick ​​says the trip is a favor for his ex-wife, but does not reveal that he also has an 8-year-old son he has never met and who now wants to meet his father.

After facing violent homophobic threats, they are forced to realize that not everyone accepts their flamboyant lifestyle. Arriving in Alice Springs, Tick finally meets his son Benjamin, who accepts his father's homosexuality and his drag queen character. The trio perform at the resort and realize they've forged a bond that will last forever.
