The musical Hello, dolly will be at the theater in Paris in 2024, directed by Philippe Hersen.

After Charlie and the chocolate factory et Flashdance, the director Philippe Hersen tackles Hello Dolly. Even if we remain a little on our hunger following the minimal decorations of Charlie and the chocolate factory, hope the Hello Dolly by Philippe Hersen will be grandiose.
This is the second time the musical has been staged in Paris. In 1971, Hello Dolly invested the Mogador Theater with Anny Cordy in the title role and in a staging by Raymond Vogel.

A hit on Broadway and London
Made famous by Barbra Streisand in the 1969 film, Hello Dolly is one of America's favorite musicals. On Broadway, the musical enjoyed many revivals (1975, 1978, 1995). Her return to Broadway in 2017 with Bette Midler then Bernadette Peters was particularly applauded.
In London, the resumption of Hello Dolly was suspended because of the Covid… we are still waiting to discover Imelda Staunton in the role!
In Paris, who will play the role? For the moment no more info but the predictions are launched.

The story
Hello, Dolly! is an adaptation of Thornton Wilder's The Matchmaker. It includes music by Jerry Herman and a libretto by Michael Stewart. She notably counts the hits “Hello, Dolly! “, “Put On Your Sunday Clothes” and “Before the Parade Passes By”.
The plot: Dolly Levi is a matchmaker who is entrusted with the mission of finding a wife for the wealthy Horace Vandergelder. Leaving Yonkers for New York, she manages to match many couples but for Horace, it turns out to be more complicated than expected. It turns out that Dolly is not immune to Horace's charms...
