A disputed ceremony

There were not only winners at the Molières 2022. As the ceremony started at the Folies Bergères, protesters from the #MeTooThéâtre collective gathered in front of the theater to denounce gender-based violence in the community. Adèle Haenel, Alice Coffin were among the protesters outside the theater.
The founders of the Séphora Haymann collective dg Marie Coquille-Chambel had been invited to go on stage and read their speech. Following the request of president jean-Marc Dumontet to rewrite their text, they finally decide not to join the scene.

It was finally Isabelle Carré who went on stage and was able to highlight the words of the activists. The book #MeTooThéâtre, compiling texts denouncing sexist violence in theater, will be released on June 3 in bookstores
