In The Heights - June 23, 2021
Avant Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote In the Heights. The musical, which premiered on Broadway in 2007 and won 4 Tony Awards, has already been seen in around XNUMX countries.
In 2016, it was announced that the musical would be adapted for theaters with Jon M. Chu at the helm (the same director who will sign the film Wicked). Filming took place in 2019, but its release has been postponed due to COVID.
It's a 5-star cast that we find on the big screen: Anthony Ramos, Jimmy Smits, Stephanie Beatriz, Dascha Polanco and Lin-Manuel Miranda himself.

West Side Story - December 30, 2021
Here is a film that we have been waiting for a long time! After several postponements, the new film West Side Story will finally be released in theaters in December 2021. It is Steven Spielberg who signs a new version of the musical, 50 years after the first film.
The 1961 film won a record 10 Academy Awards. Could Spielberg do better? We hope so!
For this new version, we find a hell of a cast: Ansel Elgort, the young Rachel Zegler, Ariana DeBose, Mike Faist and David Alvarez. 50 years after Robert Wise's film, Rita Moreno, who won an Oscar for her role as Anita, will appear again to play Valentina.

Dear Evan Hansen - September 24, 2021
No, you're not dreaming, Dear Evan Hansen happens well in the cinema. In addition, it is Ben Platt, who won a Tony Award for creating the role on Broadway, who will reprise his role on screen.
The film will be released in theaters in September 2021! It is co-produced by Marc Platt (father of Ben Platt) and is directed by Stephen Chbosky. Alongside Ben Platt, we will be able to see Kaitlyn Denver, Julian Moore, Amy Adams, Colton Ryan and many more.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie - September 17, 2021
Among the musicals movies coming out in 2021, Jamie is one of the most anticipated. The British musical is film bound. After a hit in the West End and soon on tour, Jamie arrives on our screens. The film was supposed to be released in theaters, distributed by 20th Century Studios. But the Covid decided otherwise. It is ultimately on Amazon Prime that the film is headed.
Actor Max Harwood will star as Jamie New. For director Jonathan Butterell too, this is a great first, because it is his first feature film.
Everybody's Talking About Jamie follows Jamie, a young teenager from Sheffield who dreams of performing on stage as a drag queen. If he can count on his mother and his friends, it is not easy to be different and understood. Fortunately, his meeting with a drag queen will help him to assume and become a real work of art!
Simply named "Jamie" in French, the film will be released on Amazon Prime on September 17, 2021 in more than 240 countries!
Annette - July 6, 2021
This is Leos Carax's latest film, and this time it's in English. After The Lovers on the Bridge et Holy motors, the French director transports us to the world of the stage! In Annette, we discover the life of Henry, a very provocative stand-up comedian and his wife, a renowned soprano. Their relationship is turned upside down upon the birth of their daughter, and Annette and Henry will soon lose control.
In the main roles, we find the great Marion Cotillard and Adam Driver. The script and the music are signed by the pop-rock group Sparks. The singer Angèle even plays a micro role.
The film opened at the Cannes Film Festival and is one of three films competing for the “official selection”.

Come From Away - September 11, 2021
We have been announcing the filmed version of the musical for several months. It's now done. In May 2021, the original cast of Come From Away gathered on stage at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater on Broadway and the musical was filmed live on stage, as for Hamilton.
The broadcasting rights have been bought by Apple TV +. The film should be released in September 2021, an important date because it will mark the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001.
The musical is about a small town in Canada, which, following the attacks in New York, was greeted by tens of thousands of passengers. A superb message of mutual aid and hope that leaves no spectator unmoved. Come From Away has won dozens of more than deserved awards. We can only advise you to see the filmed version!
Tick Tick Boom - in fall 2021
After the success of the film in the heights, Lin Manuel Miranda goes behind the camera to realize Tick, Tick… Boom!. And to interpret the main roles, he calls on the best: Andrew Garfield will play the lead role alongside Vanessa Hudgens, Joshua Henry, Robin de Jesús and many others.

Cinderella - September 3, 2021
Cinderellas in the musical, there's a bunch of them. Between that of Rodgers & Hammerstein and the new version of Andrew Lloyd Webber, no one can resist Perrault's tale.
This time, Cinderella arrives on our screens in a version signed Kay Cannon and with some changes. The story follows Ella, a young seamstress who dreams of seeing her dresses at the ball. You know the rest: carriage, glass slipper, prince and all the tintouin!
The film will mix pop hits and songs written by Camilla Cabello and Idina Menzel. The film will be released on Amazon Prime on September 3. Good news for all fans of musicals: Idina Menzel will play the stepmother and Billy Porter… the godmother the good fairy, renamed "Fab G" for the occasion. Tralala - October 6, 2021
The Larrieu brothers already have 7 films to their credit, but in 2021, they are tackling musicals! With Leave it alone, they bring together French song and American musical. The film will mix existing songs and compositions. We will find arias by Philippe Katherine or Jeanne Chéral). The particularity of the film is that each character will be associated with a singer-songwriter. For example, the character played by Maïwenn will only sing songs by Etienne Daho, the same for Mélanie Thierry and Jeanne Cherhal.

Don Juan - coming soon
Nice surprise ! In 2021, director Serge Bozon returns to the cinema with a musical or more exactly a musical film. Entitled Don Juan, the film brings together Virginie Efira and Tahar Rahim. We will also find Alain Chamfort, Damien Chapelle and Jhenny Beth. As the name suggests, the film is inspired by Molière's play, where the eponymous character is a compulsive seducer.
Don Juan tells the story of Laurent who is left behind on his wedding day. To recover from this misfortune, he sets out in search of absolute pleasure. He charms women using his singing voice. This is timely because Laurent is an actor and is just rehearsing the play Don Juan by Molière.
We can't wait to discover what Serge Bozon is cooking up for us and to hear the music of Benjamin Esdraffo, Mehdi Zannad and Laurent Talon.
The Great Magic - coming soon
In 2021, we will have 3 French musical comedy films! For this new film, we can count on the director Noémie Lvovsky. The film is inspired by the play The great magic by Eduardo de Filipo. The story follows Charles and Marta, a couple from the 20s whose marriage is in decline. One evening, while they are staying in a seaside hotel, Albert, a magician, makes the young woman disappear. Not seeing his wife return, Charles grew impatient. The magician hands him a small box, telling him that his wife is inside. But he will only be able to open this box once he has full confidence in Marta, otherwise, she will be gone forever.
With compositions by the French rock band Feu! Chatterton. The film has a fairly impressive cast: Denis Podalydès, Judith Chemla, François Morel, etc.
The filming of the film began in June and should be released at the end of 2021.
Diana - October 1, 2021
In 2021, Princess Diana should have celebrated her 60th birthday. The enthusiasm for the Princess of Wales is not fading. The show was filmed live on Broadway in 2020 and will be released direct on Netflix on October 1, 2021. Broadway performances will resume on November 2.

Cyrano - December 25, 2021
In 2019 in New York, actor Peter Dinklage played the title role of Cyrano, a musical version of Rostand's play. His performance was acclaimed by the press as well as the spectators. This adaptation by Erica Schmidt (Dinklage's wife) will experience a second life in film. The musical film will be the work of director Joe Wright.
Cyrano tells the story of a brave but ugly knight, who agrees to court the one he loves, Roxane, for another. Here no false nose but only the actor suffering from dwarfism. The National group signs the music.
The Game Of Thrones actor will star alongside Haley Bennett Brian Tyree Henry and Ben Mendelsohn.
The film will be released in the United States on December 25, 2021 but only on March 30, 2022 in France.
And that's not all, in 2022, it will be the turn of musicals Wicked, Matilda, 13, The Little Mermaid to be adapted into films.
