On September 26, the 74th Tony Awards ceremony took place with its live performances, statuettes, winners and moving speeches.
After more than a year and a half without Broadway, all the performers gathered at City Hall in New York to see the best of Broadway Theater honored. Although the ceremony will be held in September 2021, it rewarded the shows of the 2019-2020 season which was deprived of Tony because of the Covid.
The evening was presented by Audra McDonald followed by a concert presented by Leslie Adam Jr.
Moulin Rouge and the British big winners
The big winner of this evening is the musical Moulin Rouge! which won 10 awards including those for Best Musical and Best Actor. Theater side, A Christmas Carol et The Inheritance share 9 rewards. They are both pieces created in London and which have won over New York audiences.
