Our Parallel Years
Our parallel years - musical shows Festival Avignon off 2021

Our musical crush of this Festival Off d'Avignon! Our Parallel Years is the story of a mother and her son who each tell their story of their life. When the mother falls ill, their stories intersect and will never be separated.
This show is based on the life of Stéphane Corbin, who wrote the show and the music with Virginie Lemoine (who also directs). signs the music and and who accompanies the actors on the set.
As in the musical comedy 31, we find on stage Valérie Zaccomer and Alexandre Faitrouni, accompanied on the piano by Stéphane Corbin. They are absolutely stunning and moving.
If you can only see one show in Avignon, run to see Our Parallel Lives. And don't forget to take handkerchiefs, this show will touch you right in the heart.

A real theatrical slap! For this alone in the musical scene, we can count on the inventive writing of Cédric Chapuis. For 15 years, this show has been a hit everywhere in France and we understand why.
A tailor-made life retraces the life of Adrien, a young boy with autism who dreams of only one thing: playing the drums. Without filter, he navigates life, his relationship with his parents, his delay in school with always drum rhythms in mind.
It's a touching, rhythmic show that appeals to all generations with wacky drum scenes and a delicate story.

Neither Brel Nor Barbara
Ni Brel Ni Barbara - Should we imitate or create? - Program & ticket office for the OFF festival in Avignon 2021

How can we pay tribute to the artists who inspire us? Should we imitate them or be inspired by them to create? Here is the question that Laurent Brunetti and Mario Pacchioli ask themselves. If one absolutely wants to imitate Barbara, the other wants to interpret Brel's arias in his own way. The two actors take us through the genesis of the creation of this show and draw a parallel between the friendship between Jacques Brel and Barbara and theirs, mixing anecdotes and songs.

Don't miss this piano-voice show, perfect for all fans of French song.

Neither Brel Nor Barbara - at 19:55 p.m. at the Théâtre de l'Oulle / La Factory.

We are in Germany at the dawn of the Second World War. Richard, a young teenager, has an underground passion: swing. But he will soon be forced to confront the reality of the Third Reich.
The show was written and directed by Romuald Borys. Alone on stage, Jimmy Daumas sings, dances, accompanies himself on the guitar and plays several characters. The show has already been a hit in Avignon and has been acclaimed by the press and the public. It combines history and music and we can only advise you.

Kidine
Badine at the Théâtre des Gémeaux - Festival OFF Avignon musical shows

We do not play with love, it's Musset who says it! With Badine, rediscover Musset's masterpiece in a new modern and musical staging. We find the lovebirds Perdican and Camille and their absolute aspirations, all to the tunes of jazz music from the 50s.
This musical show is brilliantly performed by Delphine Depardieu, Benjamin Eggner, Bernard Malaka, to name a few.
A superb way to savor the emotions of Musset's verses and Sinatra's melodies!

Migration of turtles
Tonycello - Turtle migration - Program & ticket office for the OFF festival in Avignon 2021

Tonycello dreams of only one thing in life: playing the cello in an orchestra. When he succeeds in integrating (on trial) a local orchestra, he finally realizes his dream. But the path of this disaster man will be strewn with pitfalls.
This show for the whole family which alternates musical and physical gags and suspended musical moments. Even if the show is uneven and the gags sometimes repetitive, it remains a good way to show that humor and classical music go hand in hand. All the same, the cello, what a superb instrument!

Migration of Turtles - at 11:30 am at the Théâtre de l'Arrache-Cœur.

A pianist's life
A pianist's life - Stephycom

Known for the show Duel, it is only once that the pianist Paul Baïcu appears. Originally, he retraces his life through his learning of the piano. Between the rigorous teaching of classical in Romania, his political asylum, his discovery of jazz and his arrival in Paris.
This keyboard virtuoso performs classical, blues, pop, all with anecdotes, memories and crazy ideas.
This pianist indeed had a sacred life but everyone recognizes himself, on his scale in this work!

A Pianist's Life - at the Au Coin de la Lune Theater at 21:15 p.m.

Titanic
Titanic - one of the musical performances to see at the Festival d'Avignon Off 2021.

A boat, an iceberg and thousands of different destinies that intersect. On board the Titanic, the craziest situations are everywhere. Of course we find Rose and Jack but also the adventures of the captain, the skipper, a loan, etc.
The show is full of great ideas and the gags are very funny. On stage, 12 artists re-enact the history of the Titanic and jokes are heard. However, we regret the name of musical comedy because, although there are musicians on stage, rare are the moments sung.
The show is a bit long but allows a good moment of relaxation.

Titanic - at 12 p.m. at the Théâtre du Roi René.
