Mary Poppins soon in Paris?

In a notice of hearing published on September 9, we learn that the musical Mary Poppins will soon come to settle in Paris.

Mary Poppins already announced in 2013

The musical mary poppins had already been announced in 2013. A major casting campaign followed. However, after months of research, the casting for the role of Mary Poppins had not been conclusive. It's finally Beauty and the Beast who had replaced Mary Poppins for the 2013-2014 season.

In Mogador in 2023?

In interview given to Regard en Coulisse at the end of 2021, the managing director of Stage Entertainment Laurent Bentata, recounted his dream of producing Mary Poppins for more than 8 years. For the moment, nothing is decided yet because the producer Cameron Mckintosh has very strong requirements for this production.
The start date is still unclear: Stage Entertainment says "consider producing the musical".
The version produced by Cameron Mackintosh has been staged several times in London. Richard Eyre co-signs the staging with Matthew Bourne and the latter also co-signs the choreography with Stephen Mear. The show is currently playing in London and closes its doors in 2023… Will this version of Mary Poppins take over in 2023 at the Théâtre Mogador?
Another clue: The Lion King is currently at the Théâtre Mogador in its second season. Tickets are only on sale until July 16, 2023… everything seems to be pointing towards the end of 2023!

The casting

Stage Entertainment has published a call for applications and is launching its search for the roles of Mary Poppins, Bert as well as parents George and Winifred Banks. Rabah Aliouane is the casting director with France Gorse as assistant casting director. They constitute for the moment, a file of artists corresponding to the roles and the very precise criteria.
