Roberto Alagna for the first time in a musical with Al Capone

Opera superstar Roberto Alagna will play gangster Al Capone in the musical of the same name. The show opens at the Folies Bergère on January 28, 2023.

Alagna: from opera to musical comedy

Of Franco-Italian origin, Roberto Alagna is a regular at opera houses. For more than 30 years, he has sung the greatest roles in the repertoire: Don Jose (Carmen), Faust, Rodolfo (La Bohème) or even Radames (Aida). For the first time, Alagna lends itself to the game of the musical with a role written to measure: that of Al Capone. According to rumors, his salary would rise to €16 per performance. We are far from the 000€ fees for the performers of the ensemble….

A project by Jean-Félix Lalanne

It is the composer and guitarist Jean-Félix Lalanne who imagined this project from scratch. In an interview with the Parisian, Lalanne reveals that he had wanted to work with his friend Alagna for several years. A first showcase took place at the Théâtre Libre in April 2022. The show's music album was released on September 30, 2022 and includes 21 tracks.

  1. Run away if you don't want to be ripped off by this uninteresting musical, lousy singers and an exorbitant ticket price: 100 euros in square or the place on rickety chairs
