Samantha Barks will be Elsa in Frozen in London

The English actress and singer will play the coveted role in the London production.
The show opens in October 2020 at the Drury Lane theater. The theater is currently under renovation and will reopen, brand new, under the name of The Lane.

Who is Samantha Barks?

Samantha Barks gets noticed when she participates in 2008 in the tele-hook I'd Do Anything then in the Disney Channel Groove High series.
She appears in the West End as Eponine, a role she reprized in theaters for the 2012 film Les Misérables. On tour, she plays Sally in Cabaret and Nancy in Oliver!.
In London, she was also Cathy, in The Last Five Years, Betsy in Honeymoon in Vegas and finally Mallory in City of Angels. It also occurs in many London cabarets.

She began to make a name for herself in the United States when she played Velma in Cabaret at the Hollywood Bowl. In Boston, she created the role of Amélie in the first conception of the show.
More importantly, she created the role of Vivian in the musical adaptation of Pretty Woman on Broadway.
The show will also be in London from February 14, 2020.

The musical Frozen opened in 2018 on Broadway. The show is an adaptation of the 2013 Disney film. For the stage version, the plot remains similar but a few songs have been added such as "Monster" and "What Do You Know About Love".

The show is such a success that it has already embarked on an American tour. The show will open in Sydney, then London in 2020 and finally Hamburg in 2021.

On Broadway, it is the actress Caissie Levy who took over the role sung by Idina Menzel in the film. This role is a real vocal performance, and we can't wait to hear Samantha Barks sing "Let it Go" and "Monster"!
