1789: The Lovers of the Bastille

In the spring of 1789 in France, famine and unemployment which devastated the countryside and the towns created a revolt. Meanwhile, the insolent and frivolous Court of Louis XVI at Versailles continues to spend the state money lavishly.
Coming from two worlds that fear and clash, Olympe and Ronan fall in love. Ronan is a rebellious young peasant who goes to Paris to conquer Liberty, while Olympus is a nobility girl, governess of the royal children at Versailles, devoted to Queen Marie-Antoinette.

Caught in the whirlwind of the nascent revolution, Olympe and Ronan will love each other passionately and then lose each other the better to find each other. We will meet the characters who marked this period such as Danton, Camille Desmoulins, or Jacques Necker the austere minister of the King. We will follow them in the twists and turns that will precede July 14, 1789. It is on this date in the Bastille that the Revolution will forever seal their destiny but will also mark the emergence of a new world.
