Chaplin

Summary of the musical:

In 1913, Chaplin arrived in Hollywood at the age of 24. He knows a meteoric rise, going from a little unknown artist of the London music hall to one of the richest and famous men in cinema. His emblematic role of Charlot propels him to stardom. But notoriety poses challenges for Charlie Chaplin. He has three failed marriages, a paternity lawsuit as well as a ruthless journalist determined to denounce him as a communist. Chaplin's fall from grace is meteoric and he will spend the rest of his life in exile in Switzerland.
The musical Chaplin takes time jumps and explores how Charlie Chaplin's childhood and his insecurities shaped Hollywood's biggest star and also created his biggest problems. Finally, he manages to escape his past with the help of Oona O'Neill. His love as well as his unconditional support allow him to be truly himself and to let go of his character of Charlot.
