Freaky Friday

Freaky Friday follows teenager Ellie Blake and her mother, Katherine. They cannot understand each other and communicate. Ellie wishes her mother would stop wanting to change her and Katherine wishes her daughter was a better version of herself. On a fateful Friday, the day before Katherine's wedding, something magical happens when mother and daughter change bodies. Now the two will have to spend a day in each other's shoes. The strangest day of their lives allow them to get to know each other to forge a new mother-daughter relationship.

Inspired by another work : The musical is based on the 1972 novel of the same name by Mary Rodgers and the two subsequent film adaptations in 1976 and 2003.
Exists in film : There are three films, the first of 1976 with Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster. The second, probably the best known, from 2003, produced by Walt Disney Productions with Lindsey Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. Finally, the stage production was adapted into a musical film for the Disney Channel in 2018.
