Summary of the musical tale Le Soldat Rose:
Joseph is a little boy who doesn't like the world of adults, who haven't kept their childish eyes. So one evening, when a department store is closing, Joseph decides to hide among the toys. As night falls, he then sees the toys come to life. He meets a whole bunch of characters: Betty Quette who changes the prices of toys so that no one buys them, the night watchman, the king and queen of chess. But a toy stands out, Le Soldat Rose. He has lived in this department store for years and no child wants him. The girls because of his submachine gun and the boys because of his color. Private Rose is sad because his fiancée has been sold. Joseph, aided by other toys, tries to help him.
Then comes the cleaning man, who is able to see the toys move because he hasn't lost his child's eyes, his blue glasses, pink glasses”. The cleaner warns the toys that Joseph's parents are terribly worried. The toys explain to the little boy that there is nothing better than being in the arms of his parents. In the end everything will end well for the toys as for Joseph who finds his parents and his little sister. Private Rose will also smile again, but for another reason...
