Mame

The life of 10-year-old orphan Patrick Dennis is turned upside down when he is entrusted to his aunt, the eccentric Mame Dennis. Mame introduces the boy to his flamboyant, party-filled way of life during the Prohibition of the 20s. But when Mame loses her fortune in the Wall Street crash of 1929 she dabbles in a number of jobs to keep her job. care of his nephew. Mame then meets and marries Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside, an aristocrat from the South who owns a plantation. But she stops when Beau takes a fatal fall while climbing. Mame is now a wealthy widow and returns to New York. She discovers that Patrick has become a snob and is engaged to a closed-minded petty bourgeoisie. Mame brings Patrick back to her senses just in time to introduce him to the one who will eventually become his wife, Pegeen Ryan.
