Pompous phonetics professor Henry Higgins is so sure of his abilities that he makes a point of transforming a working class Cockney girl, Eliza Doolittle, into a cultured member of high society. The lovely Eliza agrees to take speaking lessons to improve her job prospects. Higgins and Eliza clash and then form an unlikely bond, threatened by an aristocratic suitor.
