Summary of the musical The Band's Visit :
It's 1996 and the Alexandria Ceremonial Police Orchestra is traveling to Israel for a concert in the city of Petah Tikva. Following a pronunciation error, the orchestra finds itself stranded for the night in the isolated desert town of Bet Havitka. Without knowing the language and with very little money, the musicians are welcomed by Dina, the owner of the café and her two employees, Papi and Itzik. During this night in a sleepy city where nothing changes, the members of the Egyptian group and their Israeli hosts get to know each other and rediscover their common love of music, whether it's traditional ballads from the Middle East or American jazz and Chet Baker.
The Band's Visit appeals to the romance and the universal passion we have for music, wherever it comes from.
