The Last Five Years

Cathy, a struggling actress, and Jamie, an aspiring novelist on the verge of resounding success, are young people in their twenties in New York City. They meet, fall in love, marry and divorce over the past five years. Cathy tells the story from the end of their marriage; Jamie starts at their first meeting. As the musical unfolds, Cathy steps back in time to the beginning of the relationship as Jamie moves towards the end; they only meet once, in the middle, during their wedding. The musical explores the idea that there are always two points of view to a story.
Since its Off-Broadway creation in 2002, Brown's fun, poignant and extremely honest production for two has delighted audiences around the world with its mesmerizing and emotional score and booklet.
