Summer 1953: Margaret Johnson, a characterful and elegant woman from the South, takes her daughter Clara on vacation to Italy.
When a wind blows, Clara's hat flies off and is grabbed by Fabrizio. The young Italian man, who does not speak English. The two immediately fall in love with each other. Neither age, language, nor family disapproval can end their whirlwind romance.
