The story

Tick, Tick… ​​Boom! is an autobiographical musical that follows Jon, a budding composer who lives in New York. Jon is about to turn 30 and is a waiter. He fears he will never manage to be on Broadway.
Susan, his girlfriend, announces that she wants to get married and leave New York. Michael, John's best friend, finds enormous financial success when he quits acting and becomes an executive at a Madison Avenue company.
Jon wrote a musical, Superbia, which receives several workshops but without hope. Jon wonders if his friends are right, and if now is the time to throw in the towel.
