The musical is based on the romantic film of the same name by Gary Marshall. The 1990 romantic comedy starred Richard Gere and revealed Julia Roberts to the general public.
The music and lyrics are those of singer Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. Garry Marshall and screenwriter JF Lawton sign the booklet. Jerry Mitchell stages and choreographs the production.
The dates of the production, the theater and the sale of tickets will be announced soon.
New York production includes Samantha Barks (Les Misérables, The Last Five Years) in the title role alongside Andy Karl (Groundhog Day).
