Marc Shaiman's musical (Hairspray, Catch Me If You Can) will be in Paris from September 23, 2020.
The show was staged in London in 2013 and stayed there for more than 3 years. Production resumed on Broadway with some modifications in 2017.
We got to see the show in London and it was awesome. The chocolate factory was being rebuilt on stage and the ways the kids were trapped in the factory were hilarious and amazing. The scenic possibilities had really grown.
But a few caveats: we don't enter the chocolate factory until the second act, which made the show a bit long. Unfortunately the music was not very memorable but the choreography was very inventive and funny.
