We've been waiting for it for several months: the trailer for the musical The Prom is finally here.
And it contains a hell of a team! It's Ryan Murphy (Glee, pose, Scream Queens) who is directing the film adaptation of the musical.
The Chad Beguelin, Bob Martin and Mathew Sklar trio are adapting their 2018 show for the screen.
A hit on Broadway
The musical, inspired by a true story, begins its trip to Atlanta in 2016, with a staging and choreography by Casey Nicholaw. Two years later, the show opens on Broadway starring Brooks Ashmanskas, Beth Leavel, Christopher Sieber, Caitlin Kinnunen, Isabelle McCalla and many more. Critics praise the show which they consider to be the feel-good musical of the season!

The show follows the story of Emma, a young high school student from Indiana who is forbidden to go to her high school ball because she wanted to take her girlfriend there. Four declining Broadway actors come to his rescue. They defend her and bring some joy to the small town of Indiana.
Like every year, Broadway musicals perform a few excerpts from their shows for the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Everything is filmed and broadcast live on NBC television.
The Prom marks the first kiss between two people of the same sex in this parade.
In addition, in August 2019, a wedding between two women took place on the stage of the theater during the salutes!
