Heathers the Musical, currently playing at Other Palace in London, will move to the Theater Royal Haymerket from 2 September 2018. Good news for all fans of the musical as it is being sold out in the Off-West End theater in London. 'Andrew Lloyd Webber until August 4.
Headlining we find Carrie Hope Fletcher (Les Misérables, The Addams Family) and Jodie Steele (Follies, Rent, Legally Blonde).
Based on the cult 1988 film; the musical tells the story of Veronica Sawyer who is caught under the wings of the popular three Heathers. It's a bit the Mean Girls 80s, with American horror comedy-film style.
The show opened Off-Broadway in 2004 after a sold-out run in Los Angeles. It was in this production that the public discovered Barrett Wilbert Weed as Veronica Sawyer and made the song famous. Dead girl walking. She is currently playing Janis Sarkisian in Tina Fey's musical Mean Girls on Broadway.
The musical was written entirely by Laurence O'Keefe (who also composed Legally Blonde) and Kevin Murphy. This new production is by Andy Flickman, with choreography by Gary Lloyd, design by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Dan Samson and cast by Will Burton. The West End transfer cast is yet to be announced but it seems obvious that we are reuniting with Carrie Hope Fletcher and Jodie Steele!
