Hugh Jackman back on Broadway in The Music Man

The American actor will return to New York in October 2020 to play the title role of the musical The Music Man. He announced the news earlier this week via his twitter account.

Although he is known to the general public for his role as Wolverine in the film series X-MenHugh Jackman was educated at an Australian theater school and is a regular at musicals. He started his career in Australia, but that's his role in Oklahoma! in London that he will launch it. Then The Boy from Oz on Broadway will earn him his first Tony Award. He broke through the screen in 2000 in X-Men but his talent for the musical grew and he played Jean Valjean in Les Misérables (for which he won the Golden Globe for Best Actor) then the title role in The Greatest Showman.
His acting and his sublime voice have allowed him to conquer the hearts of audiences across the globe.

His passion for the musical began when he auditioned for his high school production of The Music Man. We can see him his Jay Leno set, reinterpreting his audition. Hugh Jackman will finally play the role that pushed him to become an actor!

The rest of the cast has not yet been announced but rumors are circulating and the role of Marian Rooh would be tipped for Laura Osnes or Sutton Foster.
The musical will be produced by Scott Rudin with Jerry Zaks directing, Warren Carlyle choreography and Santo Loquasto for sets and costumes.
