Inspired by the 2006 film by Michael Arndt, Little Miss Sunshine is a quirky musical created by James Lapine (Into the Woods, Sunday in the park) and William Finn (Falsettos). This new production will be directed by the artistic director of the Arcola Theater, Mehmet Ergen, with drawings by David Woodhead, lighting by Richard Williamson, choreography by Anthony Whiteman and musical supervision by Mark Crossland.

The story

The Hoover family are in a lot of trouble, but young Olive is passionate about winning the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pageant. When an invitation to compete materializes, the Hoovers must pile into their rickety yellow trailer. Can they survive the 800 mile journey from New Mexico to California? This inventive musical celebrates the quirks of each family and the power to overcome our differences.

Arcola Artistic Director Mehmet Ergen said: “In uncertain times we all need a little sun. It's the story of a family coming together to celebrate their differences - and that's at the heart of the Arcola Theater philosophy. Our diverse family of artists and audience grow bigger every year, and we're thrilled that thousands of people from outside London experience Little Miss Sunshine. "

Tickets for the tour are on sale now, tickets for the Arcola are on sale from November 5th.
The Arcola is known for its affordable prices and tickets for this show will be between £ 10 and £ 30 as well as 'Pay What You Can' tickets available each week.
The cast will be announced soon.
