The musical Means Girls in London in 2020?

The producers of the musical "so fetch", Mean Girls, would be under discussion for a transfer on the London boards.

The story

Cady Heron grew up in a Kenyan savannah, and must adjust to the vicious attitudes of the teenagers in her new suburban Illinois home. This naïve high school student will rise to the top of the popularity hierarchy when she takes on The Plastics. This trio of best-enemies is led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. When Cady hatches a plan to end Regina's reign, she learns the hard way that it's impossible to pass a queen bee without getting stung.

The transfer currently depends on the availability of the creative team as well as the availability of a London theater. American musicals have already taken the West End by storm with Waitress et Dear Evan Hansen opening in London in 2019 and likely to be hard to beat at the box office!

Mean Girls  sold out since March at the August Wilson Theater in New York. The show premiered at the National Theater in Washington DC in late 2017, playing sold out. Mean Girls will launch a national tour in fall 2019.

Mean Girls features a libretto by Tina Fey (winner of nine Emmy Awards), based on her screenplay from the 2004 film, music by Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Nell Benjamin. Casey Nicholaw is responsible for the staging and choreography.
