The musical which caused a sensation in the United States will open in February 2020 at The Other Palace in London. This theater belongs to the giant of the musical Andrew Lloyd Webber (Cats, Sunset Boulevard, Starlight Express…).
The show won no Tony or Drama Desk Awards but thanks to its online community, won 10 Theater Fan's Choice Awards.
Producer Jerry Goehring explains, “It's the story of a boy who has a crush on a girl, but he's a bit of a nerd and doesn't quite fit his world. And then we get into a bit of science fiction: some guy walks in and says "I have this pill, and if you take it, it's like a big computer is settling in your brain and telling you how to act." to adapt to the high school world. Be More Chill premiered in 2015 at the Two River Theater in New Jersey. The album is published on social networks quite discreetly. However, in 2017, the number of listeners began to increase and the musical experienced a real craze on social networks with Youtube, Tumblr and fan art accounts dedicated to the show. It seems to particularly affect American teenagers. Thanks to this, the show went back to Off-Broadway the following year and then to Broadway for a limited season.
